SABC Canceled TV license maladministration & harassment
Certainly the law is the law and right is right! For a number of years I have tried to cancel my TV license as I do not own a TV any more. The last TV set I ever had packed up in about 2009. I have received one or two plain paper letters attached to e-mails (no letterheads) from one Megan Symons (no office or contact nr.) with demands. I did respond to indicate I have no TV. Now MDB Attorneys are harassing me with phone calls and SMS messages to pay up NOW! The amount now stands at a "settlement" of R874 -50. What must I "settle" if I do not own a TV set and have in fact for a number of years tried to cancel my TV license by written request? This whole procedure seems a bit contrived or underhanded to me.
