Repetitive Billing

After 6 months struggling with a Vodacom and happily working with the first collection agency, Vodacom eventually passed my credit due. With still pending dispute queries, the account collection was given to MBD Attorneys.

I requested MBD to assist with the queries which I still had only for them to request a sworn affidavit, ID copy, etc. for requesting my invoices on my account to ensure that all the billing matters have been credited. Frustrated with this request I just decided to pay according to the amount owed on the official MBD letter.

After my payment another letter received stated I owe an additional R 400. This of course frustration, but I again paid the amount from the official MBD letter. I then received another letter now owing R500 and today a letter stating they received the payment but I still owe R200. Apparent costs accumulate from calling, sending letters and interest charges.

What protection does the consumer have that these account do not run up to the 1000s or even 10000s. I again made the R200 payment and hope it's the final payment and hopefully now they will just be as quick to charge as reverse any adverse credit affect they impose.
