Prescribed debt

Please note that Ver-tex Solutions has been harassing me over the past weeks regarding prescribed debt. I had an old Marhams account around 2 ********** period which I assume MBD has bought over.

In January 2015 someone from MBD phoned me trying to collect this debt. I told them that this was prescribed debt (I asked her to send me a full breakdown of when the last payment was made to illustrate last payment date - I only received a statement with no dates). Now, Ver-tex is trying to collect this debt. I spoke to a lady called Elizabeth who tried me to acknowledge this debt. I explained her how prescription works, and she clearly doesn't know how it works.

In the past three years I haven't acknowledged, or payed this debt - making it prescribed. I also told her that it is ******* to try and collect old debt. She said that Ver-tex will continue to send me SMS/calls!!! She said they have my banking details for a debit order. If they have, I haven't given it to them. And I'm sure they are referring to my account from more than 4 years back...

Prescribed debt can be explained as old debt that has not been acknowledged over a period of three years. More specifically, a debt is prescribed if: You have not acknowledged the debt in the past three consecutive years, either in writing or verbally You have not made a payment promised to make a payment to the outstanding debt amount You have not been summoned to make a payment by a creditor for the debt within the past three consecutive years

Can you please get the debt collectors Ver-tex to stop phoning me.
