paid up letter enquiry

I m very uhappy about the service of this company .they offered me a discount to pay my account they I paid up in full .but they refuse to close the account and they don't give settlement letter .the account is active on payport side and on mbd side account still active .I don't understand this and its affecting my credit record .I really don't know what to do or understand now
