MBD unfounded claims

Hi, I just want to express my annoyance with MBD, I had a debt with foschini, 6 years back that was handed over, I was unemployed for 5 years and I could not pay, I got employed this year and the debt was written off by the credit burreau early this year, I was advised not to pay or make any arrangements with MBD, now I keep getting emails and phone calls demanding payment, I told them several times that I will not pay them as the debt was canceled , these people are harassing and violating my legal writes as a consumer, they also don't want to adhere to the new rule regarding over 5 years debts, I WILL NOT PAY THEM ANYTHING
