MBD – More Broken Deadlines
I’ve been dealing with MBD since Standard Bank confirmed that my credit card account was sold to them in September 2024. Ever since then, I’ve been begging for the most basic documents:
• A Settlement Letter • The Section 129 Notice • Confirmation that the above was sent to credit bureaus (TransUnion, Experian, Compuscan & XDS)
After being harassed non-stop by MBD in 2023, I now can't get a single document out of them - despite calling repeatedly since 11 June 2025.
I was told the docs would be sent within 24–48 hours. Nothing arrived.
The agents are rude, dismissive, and make excuses like "no managers on duty on weekends." When I asked who oversees the team, I was told "we’re all grown, no kids work here" a real joke of an answer for a serious legal matter.
I’ve now escalated the matter to:
• Council for Debt Collectors • Legal Practice Council
MBD: You're fast to hound people over debt, but disappear when it’s time to do your job and issue formal documents. Absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional service.
