MBD Legal collections. Letter of prescription

I app**** for a Credit card at Capitec Bank and they told me that their system show MBD Legal collections have me up for some debt that was prescribed many years ago. I spend all of two days calling and giving my details. Lines get dropped, lines are inaudible. I eventually gave up and decided to send an email asking for a letter of prescription that I can present to the bank. We are going for week 2 now, still no feedback. I would really appreciate it if I can get this matter sorted out....come on guys after 10 years...really. Prescribed debt should be removed after some time.
