MBD harassment and completely unhelpful!

These people have called me three times today alone, after I had called them already today to follow up on emails I had sent! They keep telling me that I promised to pay on the 15th of September a minimum amount, which I did not do. The lady asked if I could and I made her understand that she put down what she wants/has to but I can't promise anything as I have been unemployed for over a year.

I sent the below email on the 29th of September after speaking to a collections consultant who told me that day that I can email *** to request a discounted settlement amount and explain my situation... Now the people calling me multiple times a day tell me today "No! There is no discount on settlement". You would think that they would take something, rather than nothing at all, and they're telling different stories-so frustrating.

I have had no reply on the below email or my follow up. Only people harassing my partner everyday.

"Hi Carol

My name is Zanele Kumm, ID 89*********.

I have emailed a few times to cell c and to MBD to explain my situation and to request some sort of leniency or settlement amount for my Cell C account.

As explained before, I have been unemployed for over a year and my savings that I was using to pay my Cell C account and others have now been depleted and have been unable to pay for a few months. I last paid Cell C, I think in April/May and my arrears where no more than R970 . Now, since MBD has taken over the account, it has sky rocketed to R3600, which I am definitely unable to pay. As mentioned previously, I am not working, and have been looking for work since last year August.

I was thinking I could perhaps ask my folks for the settlement amount if I am able to get one, as they also would not be able to give me the full amount of R3600. They are pensioners who are struggling themselves.

Please could you assist me and find out why Cell C has not responded to my requests and if a low settlement amount would be possible.

I would really appreciate this and at least have peace of mind. I have been stressing about this for months and have always had a good credit record, which now, I'm sure has been sul****.

You may email or call me anytime.

Please note that Cell C blocked and deactivated my Sim card so if you do need to call me, you may get me on ***, or over email. "
