MBD Debt Collectors - Bad Practice and False Reporting

I was completely shocked I checked my credit report and found this company Listed MBD and I owed them money. I had no idea who they were and what this debt was for. On my credit report it clearly states I have been paying them monthly in fact accroding to them my last payment was 01/06/2024. How can a company expecially one of the legal fraternity capture legal information on a credit buereau which is completely untrue. On contacting them they advised this is a Woolworths Credit Card debt that was prescribed by Woolworths and sold to this company. I have never acknowledged this debt received a contarct or paid any money to this company. I thought it was ******* to sell debt that is prescribed on top of that how is this company inputting false information on the Experian credit bureau. On speaking to Thabo in their legal department he says there has never been a payment made on this account on their side, but this is not what they have recorded on the credit bureau how is this ethical. When I spoke to their call center the first person just put the phone down on me, the second after I requested the signed contarcts, acknowledgement of debt and of course the phantom proof of payments said it would take 48hours (working hours) I presume to send me this information. However this will be impossible as I have not now or ever acknowledged this debt or signed a contract or made a payment, so what will happen now? I have also advised the credit bureau on this matter and I have in writing as well emailed this MBD and advised I have never signed contract or acknowledged a debt neither have I paid them When speaking to them they have no answers, they are completely dismissive and unhelpful. Do people fall for this nonsense. They are charletons trying to fleece people into paying debts which are sold to them, but from what I understand the National credit act outlaws this practice so why are they doing this to people. I am very shocked how something so bltantly ******* is happening all the time and if you dont do your research and understand your rights you will fall foul to this practice.

Reviewer Update
So Today the 12/09/2024 I received notification from Experian Credit Bureau who advised MBD have received verbal acknowledgement from me that I owe them the money on the 25 April 2023, this is laughable because I have never given any acknowledgement in fact every time they call I say the same thing the debt is prescribed, I dont owe you anything, Please send me proof of a contract and again on the credit report according to them my last payment was 01/07/2024. I have never and will never pay them I dont owe them anything. This is ***** and completely incorrect. Since the 01/08/2024 I have called them 16 times requesting the information the proof and proof of acknowledgemetn to date I have receveid nothing. SO tomorrow morning I am going to their offices at 115 West Street Sandown to demand the proof, enough is enough, somebody has to do something about these people everything about them is wrong.
