MBD collecting money for MTN
I've written previous reviews regarding contract in my name that my deceased ex-husband paid. MTN gave me over to a collection company (MBD), because I allegedly didn't pay the contract. They even sent me statements with an outstanding amount of more than R12000, saying payment is overdue since June'18, MBD is giving me an amount of more than R16000. Since then I got hold of my ITC record showing that the contract was paid up to date until my ex-husband died at the end of Sept'18 and the moment I tried to cancel the contract with MTN, they started sending me outstanding payment notifications.
An amount of R7698 is showing outstanding on the ITC record (outstanding amount Oct to Nov'18) and they expect me to pay it after I tried to cancel the contract and started querying it in Oct'18. I will only agree to pay what is due to MTN with solid proof of notifications sent to me (the contract holder). The only notification I received was beginning of Sept and I agreed to pay that amount and I will not pay any amount outstanding from Oct as I was trying to cancel this contract and they didn't tell me it was not possible until Dec.
I will take this to the radio, the papers and television and they will have a field day with this as one can see on Hellopeter alone how many unsatisfied customers MTN has.
