Harassment for debt that isn’t mine & straight up ignoring POPIA

I have never before had the utter displeasure of being harassed to this extent by an organisation (if they can call themselves that). They call me multiple times daily trying to collect debt that is not mine. Their agents don’t even ask to speak to me when they call me, they ask to speak to someone else. Heaven alone knows where they got my number. When I try to explain that I am not the person they are trying to get hold of, they put the phone down in my ear. I have asked before that my contact number be removed from their database which obviously fell on deaf ears.

I have now sent a formal cease and desist. Next step is to report them to the South African Information Regulator and Council for Debt Collectors.
