Harassment and threats

From the beginning of this month I have received numerous calls from various "063" numbers that show up as "Validated Call". Some of these calls are as early as 7am. When I answer there is no response but I can hear noises on the other end and then the call gets cut. When I try to call the numbers back an automated message advises that "the number you have dialled is not in use".

Last Thursday I received these calls again and on one occasion it came up as MBD on my caller ID so I called their offices using the land line number that I have. I explained to the consultant that I have tried answering their calls but no one says anything and the call then cuts off, I also explained that now knowing who was calling I have called them not wanting them to think I am avoiding their calls etc. The consultant apologized and explained that they were having problems with their lines then confirmed my payment arrangement for the end of May.

A few hours later I again received calls from these numbers followed by an sms advising "...MBD INC. has tried to contact you i.r.o. ur ..... acc. Avoiding our calls will have a negative impact on ur credit profile. Call ***"

I chose to not respond to this thinking that there may simply be a delay in their system capturing my payment arrangement confirmation. However, over the next 2 days I continued to receive these calls and sms's. This morning I called them and was told by the consultant that I owe them the money so they will call me every day until my account has been paid in full. I responded by saying this did not make sense a I have a payment arrangement in place, which was confirmed last week, so surely you should only be calling me in the new month to confirm that arrangement. After a few minutes of back and forth trying to explain to the lady that I don't understand what they are trying to do she ended the call without saying anything. I have now again received an sms saying that I am avoiding their calls and it will reflect badly on my credit report. I called, at 3pm, the number on the sms and an automated voice advises that their offices are closed, they operate from 7am to 7pm. I tried twice and received the same message. There is obviously something very wrong at this company.

I am currently unemployed and have a payment arrangement in place with MBD for a few months now. Yes I am in debt but I have adhered to this arrangement every month and I have answered their calls or called them back. I do not understand this form of harassment towards a client who has kept up to date with their requests.
