Collect on prescribed debt

To Munnik Basson Dagama Inc. (MDB) collectors of prescribed debt<br> I app**** for a home loan at FNB approximately a week ago. The consultant requested settlement letters for 2 old accounts in order to process my final application. The fact that I need to relocate forced me to settle the accounts without knowing what prescribed debt meant. I contacted Munnik Basson and Dagama in order to settle an amount on what we agreed on on one of the accounts. I am sure that the debt is prescribed and that collection was done on debt that no longer exists, thus *******ly did I settle an account. I requested the original contract and date of default from MDB over the weekend and yesterday. Left several messages to contact me back without any of my calls or emails answered requesting the correct information. I was misled by MDB's consultants and ******* into settling the prescribed account. These debt collecting companies do this daily to consumers like us who do not understand the credit act. I am definitely seeking legal assistance.
