Bad Accounting or trying to get more money

I have been paying the RCS account for 3 years with a stop order that MBD made.After I finished the account they stopped the deduction at the bank.In the 3 years I asked them more than 10 times for a statement but received nothing.A few days back I asked for a letter to say that I finished the account but instead they send me a settlement amount of over R9000.I am not going to leave the matter,my next step is the ombudsman because there is no way I am going to pay the account twice.If I can give anyone advise,dont pay them a sent.
