**** ALERT
This "attorney's" are ****ming people! They claim that I have an ABSA CREDIT CARD debt, to which they are unable to provide any evidence of. I have never had a credit card account with ABSA. I have been harassed for approximately 15 years by these people, they refuse to respond via e-mail and obviously have no clue regarding the law. I've raised a defense of prescription, to which they claim I have to acknowledge the debt. They are in violation of the debt collectors act and I have reported them to the Ombudsman. I do not Acknowledge this alleged debt. I have not made any payments towards this account. Nor have I promised to make any such payment. No summons has been issued. This means the law of Prescription Act 68 of 1969 does apply, and according to NCA Section 126b no person may continue to collect or re-activate a debt under a credit agreement to which the NCA applies Prescription Act 68 of 1969. I have finally managed to get them to stop calling, or at least they drop the call before I even answer. I actually feel sorry for the agents, who obviously doesn't get the proper training and are forced to keep phoning whether agreements have been reached, or law of Prescription applies.
To be clear MBD, if you claim I owe anything, it is your responsibility to provide evidence to support your claim. I do not have to proof to you that your claim is invalid.

I have also received a threatening letter - you do not have any grounds to take me to court for this alleged debt, which I do not acknowledge and to which the law of Prescription applies.
I'm looking forward to an apology letter which confirm that a defense of law of prescription has been raised. Note that all correspondence will be forwarded to the ombudsman for further investigation.
