Quality of CX-5 2.2DE Akera 2020 Model
I have owned a Mazda CX-5 2.2 DE Akera 2020 model since 2020, but it seems this car is just a nightmare to own (or, it was not fixed properly). I have contacted Mazda head office and its dealerships (Witbank, Menlyn and Rustenburg) to resolve my issues before the car went out of warranty but I was told at each instance to drive minimum 300km (my nearest dealership) so they can put the car on a tester. First issue experienced in 2022 when the car malfunctioned while driving and it took 4 weeks to be repaired by Menlyn. Secondly, took it for service in Jan 2023 at Witbank and car started showing signs (Engine oil too high) when I was relocating to another province. Third of it, took it to Rustenburg for checkup in March 2023 to remove the warning as I was only able to travel then. Fourth, within a month, the car started opening the boot by itself. All these times, I must drive minimum 300kms to have a diagnosis which results in more problems. Called Mazda head office all the time to inform them. Fifth, the Battery Management System warning keeps going on and off every now and then. Sixth, spare key (which I swop every 6th month) won't open the car. I even bought new batteries. There is just issue after issue and now that it is out of warranty, Mazda claims it is not its problem. As I shop for a new SUV.
