Mazda Ford Fury Paulshof - Bad service

A few months ago I noticed that the orange light (above the red battery light) and the red light of the battery was on, the motor would also cut if I was stopped at a Robot, I would then have to restart the car – my vehicle is a Mazda MX5 . I took my vehicle to Mazda Ford Fury Paulshof.

Cornel from Mazda Ford Fury, Paulshof advised me that there was nothing wrong with my car and cleaned some parts which I duly paid for. Cornel also advised me that he put my vehicle on “some machine” to check it and could not see any problem.

After driving my car for a few days it started having the same problem.

Once again I took my car to Mazda Ford Fury Paulshof. Cornel advised me once again that the machine tells him that there is nothing wrong with the vehicle the only thing Cornel could find upon investigation was the starter needed to be replaced.

So the Starter was replaced and paid for. Got my car back and the very same day my car started leaking oil/water.

Phoned Cornel at Mazda Ford Fury Paulshof and he said to me not to worry it is because it was a hot day and I had put the aircon on, that the problem of leaking/oil water.

At this stage I was feeling desperate and phoned head office which is situated in Pretoria, Centurion. When I phoned head office I was referred to Marthinus the MD of Mazda SA Pty Ltd.

I was advised to take my car back to Mazda Ford Fury Paulshof to investigate. So back to Mazda Ford Fury Paulshof only to be told by Cornel from Mazda Ford Fury Paulshof that there is” nothing wrong with my car” as he tested my car again on the machine and the results say there is nothing wrong with the car.

About 4 weeks ago my car got stuck on Witkoppen road at 17:30 and needed to be towed to Mazda Ford Fury, Paulshof as it totally died on me. Cornel from Mazda Ford Fury Paulshof then advised me that my engine has packed up and that I will only be able to get my car back next year??????? Very strange? Once again I have phoned Marthinus- he has advised me that I will have to pay approximately 140k to get my car fixed.

I phoned head office again in Pretoria Centurion and emailed Algernon Manje in the Technical Dept., David Hughes and Craig Roberts who I have been advised is the MD from Mazda Southern Africa Pty Ltd.

This is absolutely appalling – 4 visits to Mazda Ford Fury Paulshof – trying to get assistance, only to be told by Cornel that my car has been tested on the machine and they cannot find anything wrong – then my car seizes up on me and I am told I can only get it next year and that I have to pay 140K???

I am intent on taking this matter to the consumer protection office for advice and help. Please Help.

Based on my experience to date , this was a case of extremely poor communication between client and the dealership as I was misled from the beginning and they should be responsible to repair the vehicle at their cost as I was advised repeatedly incorrect and they were not sure of their facts. Very poor service.
