FROM HERO TO ZERO!!!
After being very impressed with the pre-sales service, I am appalled with the post-sale service due to the following:
I purchased a 2017 Ford Fiesta ST200 on 9th February 2021 from Mazda Clearwater, who sent my vehicle for a service on the 5th of February 2021, just four days prior to me taking delivery. Prior to the dealership owning the vehicle, the vehicle was always serviced at a Ford approved service centre.
On the 7th of October 2021 I was driving about 40kmph in Pretoria, then my vehicle starting jerking, then it switched off and didn't want to start. I got it towed to the Ford in Sandton. They said that my Cambelt snapped and it would cost R10,075 excluding VAT only to strip my vehicle to establish the extent of the damages. I don't have the money to pay for this
Mazda arranged a one year warranty with Pinn Africa when I purchased the vehicle. Pinn Africa is unsure whether they will cover all the costs to repair / fix my vehicle and they are pushing back and saying that Mazda sent my vehicle to a non-Ford approved and non-RMI approved service centre (which is in breach of my warranty policy), and that my Cambelt was due to be changed when Mazda sent my vehicle for a service, and it wasn't changed
My original Ford manufacturers four year warranty was only supposed to end on 24th July 2021, but Mazda invalidated my warranty by taking it for a service to a place called Thomas Tyres in February 2021
The DeaIer Principle, Riaan actually told me that I should of checked the Cambelt when I purchased the vehicle. I tried to get him on record thereafter, but he then denied saying that. I am now stuck without a vehicle. Below is the only response I received from Danie, the used car manager, in over a week. As for Riaan, he hasn’t even bothered to even reply to all of my emails that I have sent him. You don’t pay money like this for a vehicle that you drove for 3,500km and breaks down in less than 8 months, honestly this is just unacceptable and is causing a huge inconvenience for me!! I am currently stuck without a vehicle and I already paid over R500 to get my car towed to Ford
"MORNING VISH I have just spoken to our DEALER PRINCIPLE and I am sorry to inform you that we cannot lend you a vehicle nor fix your car as our SIX MONTHS period on our guarantee has expired Regards Danie"
