False promises / poor after sales service

When we looked at the car, we were not so keen because it did not have park distance control / sensors installed. Chris (the salesman) very quickly offered to have it installed at no extra charge, which we felt was very generous. I specifically asked if it was factory fitted as I did not want an after market fitment done. Chris very clearly stated that it would be fitted at the factory before coming up to Johannesburg. On this basis we went ahead with the deal.

However, when we collected the car, it was very clearly fitted with an after market parking system. When questioned, Chris was very quick to say it was fitted by the staff in the workshop and was as good as a factory fitted unit. Turns out is was in fact fitted by a 3rd party company as when we discussed it with Chris when collecting our number plates, Chris offered to bring them in and have another third party button added to be able to switch it off. His solution was just turn it on when you are parking. Kind of defeats the purpose of an automatic sensing system.

The system installed is not great, is not integrated with the cars other systems as a factory fitted unit would be and is on all the time, even if the car is in park, and cannot be disabled.

Despite many promises to fix the issue, Clearwater Mazda now just ignore calls and emails.

Would not recommend dealing with this dealer and we certainly would not ever again.
