terrible service from Maxis Kosher meat Sandringham strip
what a nightmare to order and collect marrow bones from Maxis. I went to their butchery on Thursday in preparation for fathers day to buy meat and marrow bones, Young X informed me that the bones would be ready in an hour or i could collect in the morning, at the check out i gave all my personal details to the cashier who promised me that the bones would be ready in the morning for collection as i was not prepared to wait the hour. on my wife's arrival at Maxis this morning, she found out that the bones had been sold out much to my unhappiness. i called Maxi the owner and asked him how this was possible since young X had confirmed with me that the bones would be ready for me. Max informed me that one of his other customers had not fetched his packet of marrow bones and i was free to collect the bones which i duly did at around 15h20 today(friday). on arrival I once again asked Max and young X why I was expected to give my details for an order to fill when they had no intention of filling the order, to which young X informed me that they fill the newer orders first and if there is no more stock ... tough. ok, I though, but you had my details, why didn't you call me to inform me that the bones were done. I spent R1295 their yesterday on meat only to now arrive for the 3rd time to collect my bones, I absolutely refused to pay for, this is after all no way to treat ones clients. Had the order not been messed up, my wife would gladly have paid for the bones this morning. in fact Max informed me that they throw these bones away, so not really sure how newer orders get filled first as there is a demand for marrow bones hence why I took the time to order them. these people have no idea with the limited kosher people how to look after their clients. this was the last time my family will ever set foot into the place. we spend around R3000 a week on kosher meat, I am glad I have choice and glad I walked out before it became a really nasty situation. a simple apology or even a phone call would have sufficed, but a point had to be made by young X. we don't care about our clients!!
