🚫 NEVER AGAIN – Avoid Mavumisa Bus at All Costs! 🚫

I recently traveled from Butterworth to Cape Town with Mavumisa, and honestly, it was one of the worst travel experiences I've ever had — despite a few small positives. We arrived on time, which I will give them credit for. ✅ The minibus was warm (though at times too hot), which helped against the cold night.

But that's where the good ends. I booked a bus, but was instead packed into a tight, uncomfortable minibus/taxi with cramped seating and zero legroom, a bait-and-switch that felt deceptive and disrespectful. There was no regard for passenger comfort, and the whole thing felt like a downgrade.

Now, the worst part, the drivers. I’ve never seen such reckless, inconsiderate behavior. They were constantly on their phones, texting and one driver making loud, personal phone calls (calling other drivers, namely Andy, Anga and loudly talking about a woman named Bulelwa). He laughed loudly, shouted in conversation, and made it impossible to sleep. Every time I caught a moment of rest, I was jolted awake by his booming, scratchy rural Xhosa voices.

One time passengers politely asked the driver to turn off the lights, he simply ignored them, the attitude was unbelievable.

Then, in the middle of the trip, we were suddenly told to change buses, which was frustrating, confusing, and risky especially with our luggage in tow. To top it all off, the next driver seemed slightly intoxicated, which is not only unprofessional but a major safety risk for everyone onboard.

To anyone who values comfort, safety, and peace of mind: Do NOT travel with Mavumisa.

This was a stressful, noisy, and completely unprofessional ride I wouldn’t wish on anyone.
