<div>Nicola was informed about an legal issue on the property when the electrician came to complete the electrical compliance certificate for property. Nicola then paid for a company called REPS to facilitate the resolution of this matter with COJ. Nicole, knowing that a penalty could possibly be paid, did not reserve any funds to pay for this penalty. The penalty was given to us today, a few months after the transfer was complete and now we are liable to pay this.

None of this was explained to us by her as she is meant to be facilitating and coordinating this entire process and advise accordingly. As a client I have no idea about all of this legal stuff, and I informed her about the problem accordingly. She should have informed me that she won’t deal with this matter and I had to deal with it, from the get go. How do you have a legal representative who doesn’t advise you or advise on the necessary steps to mitigate issues like this. REPS didn’t have access to the funds, Nicola did and Nicola was meant to find out if a possible penalty fee should be reserved before all the funds were paid to the Seller.

Now she tells us she doesn’t know anything about penalties, it’s not her work, basically shes not involved in this issue at all so it’s basically not her problem and we have to pay or speak to the previous owner ourself and request them to pay.

How is that professional? She was coordinating everything with the various stakeholders and she is completely absolving herself from any responsibility with this problem.</div>
