Matt Arend watches are bought off of alibaba and sold at a ridiculous mark up

I got this watch for my birthday from my mom, it was really special as it was my first automatic watch. I tried to do research on the watch but there was no videos, only what was on the website. 2 weeks after purchasing it the strap broke, Matt Arend gave me a new one no hassles, as it was still under warranty. Then about 5 months after purchasing the watch, I found out it was Chinese, my cousin whom is 4 had the same watch, I thought this was rather ridiculous as the watch is 2000 rand, I asked his parents where they got it and they said “alibaba for 8 dollars” I was extremely disappointed in the company after this, I phoned Samuel who was helping me, but he didn’t answer, so I phoned their shop. It was then that I was told that I mustn’t phone the shop, and I shouldn’t be phoning if I’m just gonna ask questions about the watch. I thought this was absolutely pathetic. Samuel phoned me back and said that he’ll try and work out some sort of a refund, which he never called back even after 4 months. A telltale sign that made me realise the watch was chines was that the metal case started to rust and the logo on the watch was not Matt Arends. This was honestly the experience ever and I’ve advised several friends not to buy their watches, now that I know their ****s.
