Supplier not interested to accept the goods back as I evoked my right to cancel order within 10 days as per law. Even though this was within good reason!
My experience with the Bed shop at Festival mall on Sunday Dec 18th The Bed Factory shop at festival mall in Kempton Park!!! My family and I went to this store in Festival mall Kempton Park on Dec 18th, 2022. We spent our hard-earned money which was budgeted for the items we needed and firstly received uphauling customer service from the salesman. We needed two headboards with wings and a drop in bed set complete with headboard and 2 x pedestals. We paid them around R13000.00 cash for the goods, delivery was promised the following day and that happened. Their guys delivered the goods and fitted the bed set in my small son's room. We asked before buying the box bed set if they do the double as my son's bed was a double and the salesman said no, they do not do double, but the queen will fit, obviously, we did not consider the size more so the length. On my arrival at home, I checked everything, and the two headboards were okay, and I was happy. I then went into my small son's room, but the door only opened half to 75% and there was little space as I had to squeeze into the room. The Wardrobe doors only opened 25%. There is literally no space to work with. I called the store the following day to let them know of the challenge I have, and the salesman told me that he cannot help me as I bought, paid and they delivered for the goods I asked for therefore there was nothing they can do. This is the time I told the guy that "look it seems as if you do not know whom you are dealing with" meaning and explaining to him that I know my rights and I give him a second chance to listen so he can advise of the options to assist. The guy then apologized and said he would speak to his manager then take it from there. I waited for a response and the guy called me back to asked me if the goods were still in original packaging or not to which I started getting annoyed and told him he cannot ask me that as their guys delivered the goods and installed it themselves. The salesman then told me that they cannot assist, I asked him to speak to his manager as I was now ready to take the matter to another level and he handed the phone to his manager. The guy was so arrogant that he was not interested to assist that he told me that they cannot assist according to their policy. I then told them that I will be evoking my right to cancel this order as I know that I can do so. The manager requested a copy of my ID, my invoice, and my banking details so that he can speak to head office so that they can re-imburse me. I then scanned everything in and send it to him. The next day this manager called me and advised me that they need images and videos of the challenge I had so that they can assist. I told them that my mind was made up, I have decided to cancel the order as they were not interested to assist from word go and that I will not be sending any images and videos as we are past the part where I needed help and they were not ready to give it. I was told that in that case then head office said that they cannot re-imburse me as I am refusing to share the images and because the goods were no longer in original packaging. I requested their details and the details of head office so that I can get in touch and take up the matter with them and was given a cell phone number and told that they do not operate from land lines. I then let them know that I will be reporting the matter to hellopeter, my lawyers and the ombudsman.
