Refuse to refund an unwanted gift,with gift docket

I received PRADA sunglasses as a gift. Unfortunately the glasses doesn't suit my face. So I went to the store of purchase, with the gift receipt I received with the glasses. I explained to Yolande that I got it as a gift and unfortunately it doesn't suit me. I don't see anything I like at this time, and seeing that I have the Gift Receipt( as stated on the TFG website) , I would like to return the gift and if she could give me a gift card? Her response was that the policy stated returns to be done within 30days, and it is now 35days so NO gift card. I can now only exchange for something else. 5 days, really? It was a gift, I did not receive it on the day of purchase, and whats the point of a Gift Receipt? Where does it say a Gift Receipt is only valid for 30 Days? Unable to respond to these questions she then tells me in her unapologetic tone, that only a manager can authorize for a gift card and she is not there now. Is that my problem that the manager is off, leaving a store, with high value stock, in the hands of unprofessional staff, with bad attitudes, zero customer service skills, and no knowledge of the consumer act? I want a gift card, not an exchange with bad Attitude!
