Bad Customer Service by Masterparts Paar Branch
During August 2020, I bought a few items for my car like Spark Plugs, a can of 5l Antifreeze, Oil Filter etc.
A few weeks after the day of purchase when the person who would service my car finally got a chance to do it, he told me that I actually needed a can of oil more than I needed the Antifreeze.
I went back to the store ( Masterparts Paarl Branch) where I purchased it on Friday, 11 September 2020 and again on Saturday, 12 September 2020. I explained to them that I'm unable to find my receipt, but I dont want my money back, I just want to swop the Antifreeze for a can of Motor Oil and I am willing to pay the difference.
They blatantly refused. They called the manager after I requested to speak to him, and he refused too. On the can of Antifreeze it says Masterparts and I have been purchasing parts there for years and the can of Antifreeze is stil sealed.
I was and am really disappointed for the service and attitude of these people. If they're not willing to reach out and go the extra mile for their clients, I would advise anyone else to rather purchase their parts somewhere else. I left the Antifreeze at the store. I have even spoken to some other branches where they've told me that these people are being difficult unnecessary, because they do go the extra mile for the client and are reasonable as much and far as they can, because they know the value of true service delivery.
I also feel like they're ripping customers off. They would charge handling fees for everything they sell. Say for instance I wanted to return the Antifreeze that I purchased and wanted my money back and had my receipt, they would want a 10 or 20 percent "Handling Fee" which is just plain BS. I once purchased a set of Spark Plugs but returned it at a later stage, in the same condition is I purchased it and they charged Handling Fees. I asked the guy helping me what the charges is for, and he rep****;" Because we order some parts", which is a stupid answer that doesn't even make sense. If they have to order a part which they normally sell, it's their problem. They should not ripp customers off because of their greed.
I am planning to register this at the Competition Commission as well.
