Mastercare - Pathetic Customer service!!!

I currently have a maintenance policy with Mastercare to which I pay a monthly fee. On the 2nd June 2017 they picked up my TV as per my request as the TV was playing but there were a few black marks on the screen that I asked them to fix. A day after Clive from their Parow branch (CapeTown) contacted me to say that they cannot fix the TV. We then agreed that they would return the TV in its original faulty state i.e. in amazing working order but with a few black marks. As I wasn't home on the day of return, the person on the receiving end at my home commented and told me that he found it odd that when the guys returned the TV they refused to plug it in and just left. I found this odd but left it at that. Only to find out a little later that when my Son tried to connect the TV there was no trace of a working screen but instead a white screen with nothing showing. This caused quite a bit of unhappiness in my home. I immediately got onto Clive early the next morning, who then got his technician to "come and look at the TV again". On this occasion I was home and followed the technician into the place where the TV normally stood...I became suspicious when he didn't plug in the TV to see if told the truth...instead he immediately starting loosening up the back of the TV. He then immediately told me that he is aware of the white screen and had shown his Mgr, Clive, this in the workshop the day before. Well after much backwards and forwards the Technician left in a huff. Thereafter between Nishelle, the Customer Services Mgr, Clive - the workshop mgr, Sipho - in the parts department went on a month long search for something called a T-con board to clear their mess in the workshop and bring it back to me in its original state i.e. in amazing order with black marks. I called almost everyday, as you seriously have to egg these people on. They seem to mess up the inconvenience of the Customer doesn't seem to be important. About a week and a half ago, I get the amazing news from a guy called Saligh from the Parow branch to let me know a new TV has been okayed for me and will go out shopping over the following 2 days and get it to me soonest! I was a very happy Customer. Finally all the frustration, expense and inconvenience was over! Then I don't hear from Saligh, so I call and leave him a voicemail - no reply. Nishelle the "amazing" Customer services Mgr then lets me know via email, cc'ing Henny and Saligh - that the TV has been secured at Hi-Fi Corp and on return email containing my bank details they will process the order - as it will now cost me R750. I was livid! You see all I wanted was my TV back in its original faulty state - but they could not give it back to me as they took it away from my home. THEY MESSED up. This not a normal case of "oh im sorry Ms Jacobs but we cannot find the part for your TV, so we returning it as our policy says that if we cannot find the part there is no further obligation" NOT MASTERCARE....they saying we have your faulty tv, tough we messed up your tv in our workshop and tough luck to you...if you want a TV, pay for one!"

HI Nishelle Just to clarify - In your policy it clearly states that If the item is faulty Mastercare have the right to return it due to the fact that you are unable to find the part. This I agreed to right at the beginning....return my faulty working TV! But Mastercare was unable to. I am not sure as to what you are not getting about this case. The point I am trying to make is....you messed up my TV, to the point that it is irreparable (no programs can be watched it is a plain white screen with nothing happening) so this is not a normal case to which your rules and regulations on the maintenance policy applies to. It goes over and above your policy rules...in reality YOU ARE UNABLE TO GIVE BACK MY TV IN ITS IN ORIGINAL FAULTY STATE and now you forcing my hand to pay excess on a new TV to replace the one you took from me (MY PROPERTY) MESSED UP and inconvenienced me for 6weeks of NO WATCHING TV - WHICH IS MY RIGHT BECAUSE ITS MY TV. Today you respond by offering me a TV but I must pay you R499 or R300. I think you have an audacity. I will not help you cover up your mistakes by paying R499 or R300. There is no mention of how you treated me over this 6weeks. So here are my options: Return my TV to me in its original faulty working order (which is a working screen with a few tiny black stripes) or pay the difference and get the new TV to me for messing up and inconveniencing my Family and I for 6weeks.

Good day Madam

The defect is caused by the deterioration of the TCON Board that needs to be replaced. As mentioned in my previous response you have a Silvercare which covers you for R1500.You are liable for the excess fee.

Hi Nishelle Thanks for the call on Friday informing me that you finally understand my case and that you promise to get me a GOOD demo unit. After sending you an email Monday, to hear how far you are with trying to locate one, after not hearing from you after you promised to call me end of business on Friday - Your reply on Monday was "I am checking for a demo unit for you". Was this to stall the process once more while the inconvenience increases for me? How long still? It is almost end of business on Wednesday and STILL NOTHING FROM YOU. Can you do the proper human thing and give me a commitment?
