Mastercams - more like master****s!
Malcolm from Mastercams has a specific MO, "fix" a car, intimidate and threaten you to pay and then you have to collect the car in a broken state and pay someone else to fix his problems. Seen the same thing from several other reviews online. I would highly recommend that you do any business with Mastercams as they threaten you and it will be a gamble if you will get your car back in working order. do not take responsibility, ***** your money and threaten and intimidate you to get you out of their hair. Here is the history: Mastercams was contracted to replace Ford Focus Ecoboost Engine. Quote was received and accepted by us. Payment was made for new Engine (sourced and purchased by Mastercams) with delivery date of completed job card within two weeks of payment. After no response for more than a month after the supposed delivery date, my son went to Workshop to get feedback. 1 month after original promised date of delivery was told it was an electrical and not mechanical issue – this after engine has been replaced. Full payment was demanded before Mastercams would release the car to be taken to Ford as Mastercams said they could not fix an electrical issue (in addition to engine that needed to be replace, this was no part of the diagnostics provided originally by Ford where the car went first). Ford ran diagnostics and indicated that the incorrect engine was put into the vehicle. Mastercams first refused to take responsibility or any actions to rectify situation despite several attempt to get their input and suggestion on a way forward. When threatened with the law they agreed to collect the car and fix the issue. Car was then collected by Mastercam to rectify the potential problems, refusing to admit that the incorrect engine was installed. Proof that incorrect engine was put in to the car was provided to Mastercam. The car was with Mastercam till 11 April (Now being without a car from October which led to my son loosing his job), on several occasions the validity of the engine was questioned by us based on internet research and the problems experiences which was indicative of the incorrect engine. Every time Malcom said it was the correct Engine. Again full payment was requested even though the car was not working before the car was released to take to someone else to fix. Malcolm threaten to put the parts around my neck when I requested a detailed invoice to see what was actually done to the car so be prepared to get a broken car back without any knowledge what and if anything was done o the car. feeling threatened, I made the payment just to get the car and my son of his premises. Car was taken to Blue Oval Auto which again confirmed that all the issues experienced where because of wrong Engine installed, and that the issue experienced was because they drilled a hole through the exhaust port ( to tray and make the sensors of the car fit) and that was making the car overheat. On our legal advise, we have now laid a claim of ***** at the police against Mastercams and will also pursue the matter further legally to recover all the additional cost incurred for the incorrect engine being installed.
