Bad service

Can u kindly assist me here,I bought my motor vehicle a VW Polo from mastecars Gezina swemmer street at 2019. Last week I had to remove the battery of my car and after it required a radio code of which it was supposed to be on the manual book but to my surprise it was not there.I tried calling this branch but they kept referring me to other vw branches of which they need money in order for me to get access of the code. I further went in person to vw masterscars where I bought it n I was told that I need to pay for the code hence I bought my car there. I feel like I wasn’t treated fairly because the code was supposed to be on my Manual book and that I have to pay for for it. Please assist me.
