AFRICAN PRIDE MOUNT GRACE SPA
Its with great sadness I write this review NOT on the overall experience, however ONLY with the Spa area and the staff there at African Pride Mount Grace Spa.
My partner had surprised me yesterday 26.01 for my birthday and treated me to lunch which was absolutely amazing as well as the warm welcome at the reception. the staff at the restaurant was absolutely amazing so big ups to them making me feel super special!!
Looking forward to a spa treatment, we entered and we were handed a menu whereby we chose our treatments, mine being a tranquil massage and my partners, a magnesium something massage.
firstly, we filled out forms which we stated the selected treatment as well as what we would like to achieve after the massage as well as the pressure required, my partners pressure being hard and mine, medium.
We walk upstairs and there was another couple in treatment and their door was open! I felt so uncomfortable for them as well as myself!
Thereafter, our the****** did not know which room to use, and eventually we were lead into the room called 'tranquillity' . Our the****** briefed us that what was sold on the menu to us of '' soft brushing'' was actually being tickled for an hour with no oil massage! I was highly disturbed by this as I expected the light brushing as sold, was for circulation purposes, who pays R900 to be tickled?
My the****** came in and began the massage asking me the one and only question throughout the treatment, where would I like her to focus? I mentioned my back and neck. I was horrified to have my shoulders elbowed by her and today I sit in so much pain and in great discomfort, I do not understand the point of filling a form out and the the****** not following the stated pressure and completely ignoring my discomfort! Needless to say, my partner fell asleep within the first 10mins of the massage I hardly heard any movement by his the****** I tried to peek at some point and seen his the****** fluffing his towel by his feet?!!
im really disappointed as after being mutilated on my back the rest of the massage was not sequenced or balanced as one side of my body was treated or massaged on the other side and left me feeling very annoyed by the price we paid just to be rubbed and not massaged with essential oil.
And another very unprofessional thing that happened was my the****** left for about 2 to 4mins and left the door opened as well! Today I sit in pain for what should of been a relaxing massage yesterday, but find myself in pain as well as unsatisfied by the lack of knowledge of the the******.
if that was not enough, because I could not allow my partner to see how angry I was, if anything I was going to fight for him, as his treatment was to have the steam room and mud pack which was not done and I went back to the reception and asked to see the menu again and told the reception he did not get it. All we were told was, '' il charge for a normal Swedish then'' - r100 off, wow, not even a sincere apology for not getting what we wanted.
I cannot believe for a place with such great reviews, the Spa, and the Spa only was a great disappointment for the amount of money paid.
