False Advertising

Marqueehire is ****!We had our little ones 1st birthday and with that rent a marquee tent.After all that was discussed in the email below, management's reply is that the sales rep does not work here anymore and we assisted you quickly.Please see emails below.

Good Day Sonita We have two types of tents: 3x6 Party Tent which is R1460.00 3x6 Block-out Chateau which is R1800.00 Please see attached for explanation. These prices include set-up and breakdown costs as well as VAT but does not include transport fees. If you would like a formal quotation sent to you please complete the COD form attached. As you can see the above emails prove that we should get a clean white tent.We even got a photo of the white tent which was not the tent.Instead we got a tent with a ripped window, so dirty and tent had so many bad brown lines.I contacted Marquee on the day of delivery and explained the situation.The manager informed me that the wrong tent was rented out to us( their fault ) by an ex-employee ( not my problem). So she explained that I can get the white tent for an additional R1050...I HAD NO CHOICE!! The party started in the morning.So I agreed and took the white tent knowing that Monday I would contact management to sort this out.So I contacted management Mariaan on Monday and explained everything. I even went as far as to send her the pictures of the tent, even if it was a tent for a 'spit braai' as she mentioned the tent was not clean as mentioned in the email.So I asked her to please consider giving back my R1050 that I had to pay because of their lack of training.This was the response:

Hi Christiaan Thank you for your email - though we regret that your initial marquee was not to your satisfaction, we upgraded it to a better quality tent immediately. Unfortunately that is at a higher cost as was explained to and accepted by you. We will unfortunately not be refunding any monies you paid for the upgrade. Kind regards Mariaan

So by reading this you can cleary see that I had to pay for their mistake!!False advertising is what they do , how can we accept this in term of customer service??This was my response to her.

Hi Mariaan, I had no other choice than to take it because the party was the next morning.The cost were explained by me yes, just so sad that the only thing you can explain correctly is when extra cash is involved. Shame on you for the poor service and false advertising. I WILL MAKE IT MY MISSION TO POST THE EMAILS AND PHOTOS ON EVERY SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM.TO MAKE SURE THAT PUBLIC IS AWARE OF THE TYPE OF SERVICE THAT YOU DELIVER! This is surely a mistake from your sales consultant...mainly because of a lack of training. Disappointed! Christiaan
