Markham *********** Customers with bogus collection fees!

I have an account with Markham on which I had some debt in 2020 paying a good R665.00 per month. I had paid much of the account instalments in advance and was left with R74.90. So for a few months, no payment was required on the account. I got a statement to pay this remaining amount in October 2020, which I, unfortunately, forgot about. I got a reminder in early November, to which I responded promptly and settled on the 10th of November 2020. To my surprise, I then received a statement in December asking me to pay R23.89 which was not on the statement nor the reminder I got from them. This is unacceptable, even though the amount is small. Markham is now charging interest on this amount every month. The amount has increased to R24.97 since. Following up on this, Markham has said that the reminder I got attracts a "collection fee"! That's what the R23.83 amount is about.
