Frustrating Experience with Markham and DMC - Unresolved Debt and Credit Record

Hello,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to share my frustrating experience with Markham and their debt collection agency, DMC. I believe it is important to bring attention to the issues I have faced in the hope of finding a resolution.

I opened an account with Markham and, unfortunately, struggled to make payments. The account was eventually handed over to DMC, where I made arrangements to pay R200 on a monthly basis. I diligently adhered to this arrangement for 11 months, expecting to see a positive change in my outstanding balance.

To my surprise, when I contacted DMC in December to settle the remaining balance, I discovered that the balance had not decreased despite my consistent payments. Feeling perplexed and frustrated, I decided to visit the Markham store directly to make the payment and get clarity on the matter.

Upon settling the balance of R2515.42 on December 6th, I was assured that my account was cleared. However, when I checked my debts, it still reflects that I owe Markham. This inconsistency is not only inconvenient but also damaging to my credit record.

I kindly request the following actions to be taken promptly:

Provide a Paid-Up Letter: I request an official document confirming that I have settled my debt in full. This paid-up letter is crucial for my records and to rectify any discrepancies that may arise in the future.

Update My ITC Record: It is essential that my credit record is updated accurately to reflect the settlement of my debt. A positive update will ensure that I am not unfairly penalized for an outstanding balance that has been resolved.

I trust that Markham and DMC will address this matter urgently and provide the necessary documentation to rectify the situation. I believe in fair and transparent business practices, and I hope for a swift resolution to this issue.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely, Njabulo Ntuli
