Hi
I write this message to lament about the lies I was told by your employee at your Markham Calton Center store. I lost my phone on the 29/10/2022. Since it was not part of my plans to purchase a new device. I then went to Markams during my lunch break since I have an account with TFG. I bought a cellphone on the 31/10/2022 and I was advised by your employee "Doctor" that I can bring back the phone if I am displeased by it within 7 days. Today 07/11/2022 I tried to return the phone because of the low picture quality and the fact that it takes blurry pictures however, to my surprise I think he is the store manager, told me that I cannot return it because of the picture quality and few scratches that are on the screen protector. Which I told him I would be happy to remove the screen protector and install another one or pay for the damages.
When I advised of my previous interaction with the salesperson, the manager then told me that the salesperson "ungishaya-shayile" meaning his salesperson **** to me. I then asked that seeing that it is his employee that **** to me to get a sale out of me, I no longer want the device and would be happy to exchange it for another model I do not mind paying extra. The manager then dismissed me and told me that he would not be able to assist me. I should rather download Snapchat to take pictures. I want you to take note of my disappointment with the store and allude to you the fact that they sold me the device in deception and the fact that the manager does not want to assist me is ludicrous! I will not be conducting business there ever again as the store does not follow the consumer protection act 68 of 2008 and I will be reporting this matter with the retail ombudsman as my right to equality in the consumer market; privacy; choice; disclosure and information; fair and responsible marketing; fair and honest dealing has been violated. I will also be taking this up with the National consumer tribunal.
Markham as a supplier is required to remedy any defects in the quality of services performed or goods supp****; or refund the consumers a reasonable portion of the price paid for the services performed and goods supp****, in the event of these being sub-standard.
