Faulty Blue Filter Glasses from Markham (Bought 21 Oct 2025 at 17:38)
I’ve always trusted Markham for good quality, so I decided to buy their blue filter glasses for R160. The manageress made sure to tell me there are no returns, which I found odd — but I went ahead anyway because I believed in their brand.
When I got home, I tried the glasses on my computer, expecting eye relief. Within less than a minute, they felt extremely uncomfortable, so I took them off — only to find the frame had already snapped! As I carefully put them back, one of the lenses popped out. The bag, receipt, and pricing card are still intact.
Honestly, this feels like a ****. How can a product break instantly and not be returnable? Under the Consumer Protection Act, customers are entitled to goods that are of acceptable quality, fit for use, and durable. A product that breaks in under a minute clearly isn’t.
Markham, please do better. I’ve attached the photos and proof of purchase — I just want this matter resolved fairly.
