Disappointing Service at Multiple Markham Stores

As a personal stylist and shopper, I frequently visit malls in Cape Town and Joburg to keep up with trends and source clothing for clients. Markham has been a go-to for classy menswear, but after repeated negative experiences across several stores—including Canal Walk, Blue Route, Waterfront, Tygervalley, and N1 City—I will no longer be recommending or shopping at Markham.

My recent visit to the Waterfront store on 21st Feb 2025 was the final straw. Despite an excessive number of staff present, no one assisted me for 30 minutes. When I finally asked for help, I was told there was no stock—only to find the items myself moments later. When staff did assist, it was with an unprofessional attitude, followed by continued conversations among themselves instead of focusing on customers.

This has been a pattern across all locations—judgmental, rude, and dismissive service. As someone who has brought significant sales to Markham, I expect better. Until staff training and customer service improve, I will not shop at Markham again, nor will I recommend it to my clients.

Markham, if you value your customers, it’s time for serious change.
