**** quality

I bought a pair of shoes which i paid R480 on friday the 29th as i had a function to attend on saturday, when i wore them i didn't see they had a defect but when walking with them i found that the rubber holding the shoe is warn off. This is a slip on shoe which without the rubber holding it to my feet it is useless. i I bought them at Southgate mall and returned them today at Trade Route which i am being told because i wore them they are second hand so they can't take them back.. Does this mean i threw my R480 in the trash with a **** of trash of shoes that i am now being forced to take???? when i bought i was told it is the last pair so i was sold the ones on the display which now they are **** and i am being told i cannot return.. IS THIS WHAT THEY CALL SERVICE WITH US BUYING EXPENSIVE SHOES WANTING QUALITY BUT THEY ARE SELLING US **** AND NOT WANTING TO CHANGE IT
