MARK WHITE NISSAN AMANZIMTOTI - SHOCKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My husband and I bought a new Datsun Go LUX in January 2016 with only 26KM Super excited all round as it was the first time we had bought a brand new car.
Much to our horror the car started giving problems within the first month. with only a few hundred KM on the engine we had to put in 1 pint of oil. Initially we put this down to the first check that they make before releasing the vehicle and did not top up properly and assumed that this would be the last time we would need to do this. this was not to be, we put in oil a few times and we took the vehicle back to nissan Amanzimtoti to get this checked out, they took the oil reading and told us to come back in 1000km, we did this 3 times and it came back as all is fine and within manufactures specs. We were not happy with this verdict and requested further tests which were done. Apparently an exhaust test was done and there was no excess oil burning, as well as a cylinder test which apparently came back normal. We were sent on our way. In December 2016 the car was due for its first 15 000km service. a week before the service was due the oil light flashed on and off, we checked the oil to find out that it was 3 pints short. again I complained, not only about the oil loss but also that there was a problem with the low oil light that does not notify in time. when we got the car back after service I was told that the wheels had been rotated and I need to go get alignment done. while getting this done we were told that the alignment cannot be done as the wheel bearings are damaged. Again back to the dealership. I asked how this was not picked up and got no answer and the wheelbearing were fixed. the oil problem persisted through 2017 with many trips to the dealer with complaints and requests to have the vehicle now uplifted or replaced or something due to all the issues we had had since purchase. We were told that they will find us a demo in the Nissan micra (April 2017) In the time since we bough the car until now we have had 4 1000km "checks" as well as a squeezing noise that is made when applying petrol when turning a bend or coming off a speed bump. Both with zero outcome.
DP changed as did the service manager.
No record was made that we had requested a change in vehicle. and the process was requested again with the new DP. to date we have had no feedback whatsoever regarding this.
December 2018 service for 30 000km again a week before service the oil light flashed and went off, again the vehicle was 3 pints short, again this was reported. 3 weeks after the service we notice an odd metal on metal noise coming from the wheels, and the car was taken directly to the dealer for investigation, turned out that the did not check the inner breaks, which now need replacing.
April holidays we decided on a trip to JHB for the long weekend and did all the normal checks before the trip. Tyres, oil, water, ect and again 3 pints of oil. 2000km later once we returned from the trip we did another check on the oil and again 3 pints down.
this time another 1000km "check" and they finally admit that there is a problem and they need to do further tests. A cylinder test was done and it was discovered that the car is loosing pressure on Cylinder 2.
It took the dealer nearly a month to find us a replacement car to use while they have ours. WE asked how long they would have our vehicle, we were told we should have it back by the Thursday. (we dropped it off Monday 04/06/2018) Last week were were told that they will get the parts on Monday (18/06/2018) and we would have our car back Thursday - unfortunately for us we did not ask "which Thursday?" Today we call to find out whats going on - the answer is "Monday/Tuesday"
The service here is completely terrible. The DP hides when he sees me coming and the sales person that was supposed to be helping us with a new car has never gotten back to us and when approached tells us he is still looking for one.
Hopefully one day we will get our car back and we can get all these issues sorted. paying R190 000 for a broken vehicle that they refuse to acknowledge is a factory defect is a total disaster.
