In September 2023 I purchased a Nissan Magnite CVT from Mark White Nissan and, unfortunately, it has been the worst vehicle purchase experience I have ever had. From virtually new, the car has suffered from persistent rattles and poor build-quality noises that were present almost out of the box. The CVT transmission behaviour is also extremely unpleasant and, in my opinion, unsafe at times — there is a delayed, “rubber-band”-like acceleration where the car hesitates even when the accelerator is fully down, followed by sudden acceleration afterwards. This makes pulling into traffic stressful and unpredictable. Another major concern is the braking performance at higher speeds, which has always felt mediocre. I have also experienced ongoing infotainment glitches, including the infotainment system randomly cutting out or refusing to switch off properly while driving, which is distracting and potentially dangerous on the road. This was my primary are of concern when purchasing the vehicle and the salesman still sold this car to me even though he must have known these models have an glitchy infotainment system. Most recently, after the car failed to start, I was advised by the dealership to replace the battery. I did so at considerable expense and fitted a brand-new battery. Despite this, the vehicle is still experiencing the same problems — including not start at all making me late ir unable to attend appointments and, bizarrely, not switching off properly or easily once parked. Clearly the battery was not the cause, so no meaningful effort has been made to properly investigate or resolve the real issue. What has made this experience even more disappointing is the aftersales support from the dealership. My impression throughout has been one of minimal genuine interest or urgency in properly diagnosing and resolving these recurring problems. At this point, I cannot recommend either Mark White Nissan or the Nissan Magnite to anyone and I wish I never bought this car not encountered this dealership.
