I will never rent from an apartment complex managed by Marite again

<p>Below follows our negative experience we had with Marite and its representative in Atlanta complex, Strand. To date we haven't even received a response from them - the lack of concern for residents safety is totally unacceptable:</p> <p> </p> <p><em>"Dear Marite Property Management,</em></p> <p> </p> <p><em>On Saturday the 27th of May, a 42 inch Samsung Smart TV worth over R6000 was ****** right out of the backseat of my car from the designated parking area across from my apartment in broad daylight. When we reported this to the complex supervisor, not only was his attitude in this matter shocking, but absolutely no camera footage could be produced from the entire complex, which I find very suspicious as surely one should be able to see someone carrying a 42 inch television around a complex (that is advertised as safe and secure) at some point in time.</em></p> <p> </p> <p><em>Besides the safety risk posed to residents here, what's even more concerning is that three weeks ago the exact same thing happened, where an Audi badge and two Audi hubcaps were ****** right off our car here in the main complex parking lot across from our unit. Again, after reporting this to the complex supervisor Kobus, absolutely no footage could be produced (after repeated inquiries) and no action whatsoever taken to raise awareness or try prevent this from happening again.</em></p> <p> </p> <p><em>It is also worth mentioning that after asking around whether someone saw anything regarding the television, there were multiple residents coming forward saying that there were items ****** form them in the complex in recent times as well. It is of my opinion that if any attempt whatsoever were made by competent staff to inform Atlanta residents of this escalating ******** activity or any attempts at improving security in the complex, this might very well have been prevented.</em></p> <p> </p> <p><em>The main problems here are:</em></p> <p><em>1) The bad attitude, passivity and complete lack of safety concern for residents by the complex supervisor.</em><br /><em>2) The fact that the entire complex is totally unaware that there are ********* that have emerged/moved in here in recent times and need to be on the lookout.</em><br /><em>3) The fact that Atlanta is put forth in advertising and building signage as a safe and secure complex (in all agent adverts as well as building signage, pictures attached).</em></p> <p> </p> <p><em>I would like to see this camera footage from the 27th of May through to 4th of June, as I am sure that the person who stole my TV right out off of my back seat, is in fact living in the complex. </em></p> <p> </p> <p><em>If nothing is done about this and does not get resolved to our satisfaction, we will be taking the matter further."</em></p> <p> </p> <p>PS - I am unable to attach pictures here but can be provided on request.</p>
