Holiday Hell
We've been coming here for years. Good price, near the sea, if a bit run-down. But the caretaker, Lienie has always been extremely rude. She is not known as the "Holiday ****' for nothing. This time, things took a turn for the worse. All guests (?!) have to be about at 9am on a Sunday. This is her rule. We were out at just before 9.10am. The cleaning lady was happily in the flat, removing bedding, while just my handbag and a few small items lay n the table near the door. My husband was putting our bags in the car. This time we got our **** plus sidekick: an angry old man. her husband, her colleague, who knows? They both proceeded to verbally abuse us, accuse of us of 'not paying on time', taking showers after 9am, and various other 'offenses' over the years. ***? The caretaker then tried to get the cleaner to lock the flat gate so that I could not retrieve my handbag. Luckily, the poor cleaner did not take to being bul**** and brought into other people's arguments. Then came the cherry on the cake: her sidekick, the old man, tried to physically attack me with the metal gate - I am a woman with two young children beside me! My 13 yr old daughter tried to stop him and he promptly told her to get lost. May I please add that my husband and I are both professional people, not rednecks! As it was, we ended up not being able to do a basic check on the flat and left one or two valuable items in the cupboard by accident. I think it is high tide (pardon the pun) that this lady is informed that Marylin Court is not a concentration camp with inmates, but a holiday home with guests and that basic respect and courtesy are requirements. As for the old man, he is dangerous and should be removed from the premises. We are still considering laying charges. Take note that the caretake made it quite clear she couldn't care less about any complaints and she would just tell them all the terrible 'infringements' she imagines we have committed over the years. Absolutely insane!. It appears these people have nothing better to do with their lives than pick fights. Why, for example, did we need verbal (and physical) abuse from BOTH? Wouldn't one aggressive confrontation have been sufficient, at 9:05am? Instead, lucky us, we got the two of them, one after the other. An angry, nasty pair of overseers indeed. There are other nice flats in the area, I'd keep well away from this one.
