Painful Procedure and Appalling Attitude from Ghandi Square Branch

The challenge I encountered was the very painful procedure I went through. The plan was to remove IUD and replace with another one, I paid for both procedures but ended up only removing because of the excruciating pain. There were 3 nurses around me the one who was actually doing the procedure was being coached by the other 2 nurses. The experience was awful, I’ve been through the process of inserting an IUD before and it was not painful. I don’t know what those nurses were doing, but it was a traumatic experience. I asked for water because of the pain I was told i will have to get water from reception. No compassion or empathy at all from one of the nurses. I have medical aid, but chose to go Marie stopes because of my previous experience at the now closed Soweto branch. The experience was totally different.

The receptionist at Ghandi square is so unfriendly. I feel sorry for the ladies who are there for sensitive procedures, who firstly have to deal with cold client facing receptionist.

The nurse promised to call me to inform me of the way forward regarding the money I paid for inserting IUD, but failed to do so.

It is disgraceful and disappointing to see how African women treat other African women.
