Organization to take accountability
Arguable incompetency of the midwife to visualise the intrauterine embryo at 8 weeks caused significant emotional distress and further expense.
I booked for my appointment for a TOP at GANDHI SQUARE Centre on the 28 JUNE 2019 at 09:45AM as per ***.
I was assisted by a midwife, Gugu and this is after I waited 2 hours to be helped - she asked a list of questions about my medical history and we proceeded to do the ultra-sound where she confirmed I was less than 5weeks pregnant. I told her it can't be as my symptoms prove otherwise. She then insisted I take a pee test and she advised me that the scan is correct and also considering that the second red line on the test was light it indicates that the pregnancy is in its early stages. She confirmed and encouraged me to return two weeks later because if I take the pill at 4weeks it wouldn't work. I paid in advance for the medical TOP and kept my proof of payment as I knew two weeks later I wouldn't have this amount of money laying around.
Today I returned to the clinic, and I was helped promptly upon my arrival. We skipped the medical history questions and I did an ultrasound scan and to my surprise I was told I am now at12 weeks and more money is required.
My frustration here is simply imbedded in the fact that we seek professional services and we pay upfront. The part here I don't understand why I should be paying more for something I should have been told the first time. I don't see why I should be held accountable for the incompetency of one individual in your organization, it makes absolute no sense. I am triggered by this
