MS Health overcharged invoiced amount
I had an appointment for family planning end of June, and before that, I had done my research regarding the pricing etc. I had informed them that I would be using my medical and when I went to their offices, I received an invoice for R750, which included the procedure and consultation and clearly indicated that the medical would be liable for these costs. Fast forward to them submitting the claim with my medical aid. The claim submitted amounted to R2 065.85. I enquired with my medical as this came from my MSA, which I had only budgeted R750 for. My medical informed me that this is the amount MS Health claimed and sent me a detailed claim statement. The statement reflects costs for GP consultations and GP-related costs (meanwhile, a nurse was assisting me with the whole procedure). I queried this with MS Health on multiple occasions from 2 July 2022, and the last email I sent was on 26 July 2022. During this period, I received different emails informing me that the matter would be escalated, and I had to narrate my story each time. I have not received any responses since following up on the 26th of July. If you invoice me for a certain amount and acknowledge that the medical is liable for it, that is the amount you should claim. If you charge medical aids more, then it should reflect on your invoices. This depleted my MSA, and I have not received any feedback regarding a refund on the overcharged amount.
