Inflated account

I took up a 12month interest free account with Rochester for couches that were priced R8995. To date I have paid over R10 000 and I still have an outstanding amount. I have queried this since my maternity leave in August and my baby is a year old now. No one seems to have enough braincells to actually rectify my account. I asked for my settlement amount and it's more than my monthly installments. How is this possible?
