Poor & Lack of Service by Marara Pharmacy

The Serivce the pharmacy is providing is disgusting. I am with GEMS Medical aid, my doctor and I submitted a new prescription on the 11th of December 2024. I even called to check if they received the prescription which had changes to my chronic medication. They affirmed that they received the prescription and will effect the changes during their next December 2024 delivery date. I received wrong medication in December 2024. Had to call them several times to enquire why they delivered the wrong medication. I received another delivery in January 2025. In February 2025 there was no delivery of my chronic medication despite the fact that my December 2024 prescription was for a 6months repeat medication. I called the pharmacy for more than 10 times using a cellphone in February, with a lot of waiting times, consuming my airtime. No medication was delivered in February. I had to go on without my chronic medication for diabetes a d hypertension. This month, I have been calling the pharmacy once again since the beginning of March 2025, was given empty promises of urgent delivery. I have used more than R300,00 of airtime to call them. Seemingly we are forced to beg for delivery of medication as if one requires credit for it.

The previous GEMS Chronic DSP, Medipost was far better than this pharmacy. One will end up with Medical condition complications because of their poor service.

Dear Daniel M,

First and foremost, I want to sincerely apologize for the incredibly frustrating experience you’ve had with our pharmacy. I completely understand your anger and disappointment, and I deeply regret the numerous issues you’ve faced with receiving your chronic medication.

The level of service you’ve described is unacceptable, and I can’t imagine how stressful it must have been, especially given the nature of your medical conditions.
We take these matters very seriously and will investigate why your prescription was not handled as promised, and why you’ve faced such delays and difficulties in receiving your medication.

The fact that you’ve had to spend so much time and money calling us, only to receive empty promises, is completely unacceptable.
I understand that your health is on the line, and I want to assure you that I will personally escalate this matter to ensure that the situation is addressed urgently.

Once again, I apologize for the inconvenience and stress this has caused.

We are committed to resolving this for you and ensuring it doesn't happen again.

Thank you for your patience, and I will ensure this is addressed as a priority.

Regards,
Marara Customer Experience team.
