Bad Service from Marara Pharmacy

I have read a number of reviews and cannot agree more with the sentiment. The service that is received from Marara Pharmacy is appalling.

My scrip was mail to Marara on the 25th February. I called on the 7th March as I had not heard anything from them. I spoke to Angie, who could not find my script and after advising her that it was send from my GP, she confirmed that it was in fact in the queue and had not been attended to yet. The called was dropped before I could get an outcome, not after her promising that it would be sent to the Pharmacy. (check the call log). Fast forward to 11 March where I spoke to Faith (16H20) - my call was dropped after a minute. (Check the call log). 11 March - I called back immediately - I spoke to Adrian He confirmed that I would get my prescription by Friday 14 March and that all future deliveries would happen automatically and that I would not need to call again as my details are on the system. Call ***.

17 March 2025 - waiting in queue for 12min 48 sec - I eventually gave up.

18 March 2025 - Cecelia - 08H58 - once again confirmed that it was escalated to the clinical department. Meds not dispatched yet. Cecelia will escalate as well and get them to call back before COB. C***9

So I have been without my chronic meds for a while now.

Was this the correct collaboration for Bonitas? Was this deal made on the golf course? Who is taking responsibility for all these delays? Perhaps this partnership should be reviewed. If there were branches across the country, one could at least have gone to collect, but unfortunately they are only in Pretoria.

Please could we get some customer service....

With the kindest regards and respect. Samantha

Dear Samantha,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and I sincerely apologize for the ongoing frustration and inconvenience you’ve faced.

I can absolutely understand your dissatisfaction with the service you’ve received, and it’s clear that we have fallen short in providing the level of care and attention you deserve.

I am truly sorry for the multiple delays and the repeated issues with communication. It’s concerning to hear that your prescription has not been processed as promised, and I fully acknowledge how stressful it must be to be without your chronic medication for such an extended period of time.

This is certainly not the standard of service we aim to deliver.

I want to personally assure you that I will escalate your case immediately to ensure that your medication is dispatched as a matter of urgency, and I will investigate the communication issues you’ve experienced, including the dropped calls and promises that were not fulfilled.

Please allow me some time to get this matter resolved, and I will ensure that you are kept updated on the progress. If you would like, I can arrange for a follow-up call or direct contact to make sure this is addressed as quickly as possible.

Again, I apologize for the distress and inconvenience this has caused, and I appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this matter.

Regards,
Marara Customer Experience team.
