The worst rental agency

I rented a flat from this estate agency for 2 years. The agent never came to do inspection with me when I moved in. I noticed that there were quite a large number of problems with the flat. I informed the agent and unfortunately nothing happened. When the second year of rental rolled by, I refused to sign the renewal as nothing had been attended to. I thankfully have all of this in writing. Up until now, the problems within the flat have STILL NOT been attended to.

As a result, I decided to move out. When I informed the agent, this came as a shock to her because she "apparently did not realise that there were still problems with the flat". Now, after moving, we did not receive our full deposits back as she subtracted money for the cost of the renewal contract, for which we did not agree to (as per the clause in the old agreement) and we did not sign a contract as she did not bring her part in fixing the problems within the flat.

When I brought this to her attention, she used our working hours as an excuse that the problems weren't fixed and she feels she needs to be remunerated for the work she did. She also said that we made use of the flat and as such we need to pay for it, which we did every month, without default.

I would strongly recommend that you not make use of this agency in the future. Problems with the flat don't get attended to or you'll wait months on end for problems to be fixed. I know of other people that have had a similar experience with this agency.
