MARIAS REMOVALS BE AWARE

I have arranged a move with Marais Removals with Annatjie. After she in writing ensured me that they had all the necessary insurance in place should there be items damaged during the move, I booked with them. She assured me that my items are in the best hands and that they are doing moves on a daily basis.

Obviously their quotation was the best ii receveived for the few items I have to move. BUT all money needs to reflect in their account before loading. They do not work on a 50 % deposit as all the other moving companies - NOW I KNOW WHY!!!!!!!

My items consists of a brand new upholstered couch, 2 x custom made heavy steel rails, steel stands, a large format printer and 12 boxes to Somerset West. As I was not in town on the delivery day, my parents was present during the off loading.

My mother counted the boxes from an inventory list that I gave her and 2 boxes (nr 6 & 7 ) was missing. The driver consistantly told my mother that they did load everything and that we made a mistake.

On my return I saw all the damage that was done to my property! My brand new upholstered couch was damaged (material torn), all my rails and steel stands had scratches with paint off and the one wheel of a heavy duty stand was broken off and replaced by the removal company!!! I saw that the rivits was silver and not gold as the other weels. OBVIOUSLY THEY ONLY CONFESSED ABOUT THIS DAMAGE AFTER I ENQUIRED.

With regards to the couch, the driver told that be unwrapped the couch in from of my father who said all was fine. My father denied this. After threatening the company that I will investigate their company to see if they adhere to all the required standards of a Removal company, THEY CONFESSED THAT THE DRIVER **** AND THAT THEY WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DAMAGE ON THE COUCH.

With regards to the 2 missing boxes (a box with office equipment and all my pvt document and policies AND A BOX WITH MY GRANDMOTHERS ANTIQUE TEA AND SIDE PLATES SET OVER 100 YEARS OLD). MARAIS REMOVALS only excuse was that the boxes wasn't on the truck and that my list of items was wrong. Even after I showed them proof that I have an inventory list which showed all the contents of each box.

Annatjie, in writing committed to repair my couch - UP TO TODAY A MONTH LATER THEY JUST SILENTLY DISSAPEARED AND ARE NOT ANSWERING MY CALLS OR MESSAGES OR GET BACK TO ME WITH A SOLUTION.

Why do they refuse to refund me for my damages after they assured me they have damage insurance in place?

I WARN EVERYBODY AGAINST THIS COMPANY. I CANNOT SAY THAT THEY STOLE MY BOXES AS I DO NOT HAVE PROOF, BUT HOW CAN 2 BOXES JUST DISSAPEAR IN THIN AIR??????

THEY FOR SURE DO NOT TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR PERSONAL PROPERTY AND HAVE 1000'S OF EXCUSES AND TELL LIES TO COVER THEMSELVES UP. THEY ACTUALLY ACCUSED ME OF TO LIE ABOUOT MY INVENTORY IST AND MADE ME AOUT AS A ****!!! ACCORDING TO THEM I WAS WRONG AND THEY WERE RIGHT - END OF THE STORY!!!!!!!!!!!
