Poor Workmanship and Incomplete Work

During October 2023 i wanted some demolitions at my house and made several enquiries with construction companies of which Dial-a-contractor was one and referred several constrator for quotes .I chose Mapeyi Enterprise under Yolani Mapeyi and he gave me a quoteHe also assured me that he was registered with Nhbrc .He started work and in the process he asked if he can be allowed to work on my kitchen but i told him that i have someone already but he insisted on giving me a quote .I agreed and he brought his wife as a consultant who also quoted me foe her services though i cannot even point to exactly what she did .I both for both quotes and he again quoted me for the 3D kitchen design which i also paid in full.He then started work in the kitchen .He brought a sample of the kitchen top referred to as carracata or something of that nature as this was also quoted and paid for anyway.The time lines were never met as it seems he had a lot on his plate .On those days that he came nothing significant was done until i realised that he was making changes to the plans without any consultations with me .I send him a text message indicating my displeasure and he promised to come the following day which was a Sunday and he never did .The following Monday he came but just ignored me and vanished and when i enquired i was told he went to Eastern Cape .He came back the following Wednesday and i confronted him he tried to dodge meI asked him why is he making changes without discussing with me especially with material used and the issue in contention was part of the kitchen unit which was on the 3D plan but he was reluctant to install saying that those were extras which were never indicated as such but were part of the 3D plan .He then produced a pile of invoices which i refused to look at and claimed to have used his money some things although his quotation clearly indicated what he must do.I knew the stove ,extractor and oven were my responsibility and i duly bought those items .When he was installing the gas hob i requested a COC which he promised to email to me .I never saw him ever since and on contacting him, he changed his tune and referred me to another service provider .Weeks went by and i decided to get a certified gas installer to come and inspect the installations and his finding was a disaster just about to happen (he put the gas hob connections and the oven isolater next to each other which was a very big fire hazard .The gas hose to the gas cylinder outside was for inside the house use only including the regulator .The gas cylinder was placed directly under the kitchen window ,next to the kitchen door and the drain . All connections had to be redone at a cost both electrical and gas .I called him although he ignored my call ,i then send him a text message requesting that he come and sort out the mess .H enever came and i contacted his agent (Dial A Contractor ) who indicated that Mapeyi Enterprise was not a registered Gas nor electrical contractor and could therefor not certify any installations.Some plugs ,light connection were moved and this made me to also get the services of an electrician to certify and he also found a lot of faults also at a cost .Dial A Contractor is not assisting as the referring agent .
